Consisting of two international-sized ice hockey rinks and a surrounding Olympic skating track, the Utah Olympic Oval was initially constructed to host speed skating events during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Now host to competitive practicing teams, figure skating practices and other athlete training events, the oval is also open for public skate times and offers classes in events like figure skating and curling. It sits about 14 miles by car southwest of downtown, beside Oquirrh Park.
