Spread over 10 acres of land in the middle of Salt Lake City, Temple Square is the heart of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the religious group more commonly known as the Mormons. Home to many of the religion's most important religious buildings, including the Salt Lake Temple and the Salt Lake Tabernacle, the area also holds other sites including the Museum of Church History and Art, the Beehive House, Brigham Young Historic Park and the Mormon Pioneer Memorial Monument. Guided tours of the grounds are offered, or visitors can stroll through the towering structures and manicured gardens on their own. Located downtown, the square is just blocks from EnergySolutions Arena and The Gateway shopping center.
